This pigs feet recipe has been passed down over time in my family These delicious trotters are a relatively inexpensive AfricanAmerican dish we made every New Years Eve to ring in the new year Theyre even better the next day and they freeze well Sprinkle them with a little more vinegar or hot sauce to taste and serve with homemade potato salad Southernstyle greens candied yams and cornbread

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Thoroughly wash pig's feet in cold water and place into a large pot or Dutch oven. Add onion
  • celery
  • vinegar
  • red pepper flakes
  • seasoned salt
  • garlic
  • black pepper
  • and bay leaves
  • then pour in water to cover. Bring to a boil
  • then reduce the heat to low and braise until pork is tender and falling off the bones
  • about 2 hours.
